Author: NCCARF
Year: 2016

This briefing outlines the challenges that engineers face in preparing for a climate changed future. Local councils will be at the frontline of responding to climate change threats. They may experience climate change impacts across the whole organisation with potential for costly damage to major infrastructure, disruption to activities and increased work and maintenance programs. This may require trade-offs in decision making. This factsheet lists some of the risks this sector will be faced with, what climate change may mean for those working in this sector, and how adaptation might help shape their response to these challenges.
